• Karting at Speeders isn’t just for grown-ups. Our brand new Italian-made electric go-karts are the best in the industry. Made for children ages 14 and under and over 48″ (4 feet) tall, they utilize the latest technology and innovation and are designed, built, and maintained to the highest racing performance and safety standards.

Be prepared for huge smiles that will be hard to wipe off! And don’t worry, we don’t make the juniors race on a short kid’s track. They get to race on the same track as our adult races, resulting in a thrilling and unforgettable experience for young racers of all skill levels.

    Junior Karting FAQs

What are the height requirements to race your junior karts?

The minimum height requirement for junior racing is 48 inches, or 4 feet tall.

Please note, meeting the height requirement is not a guarantee junior drivers will be able to race our karts. Drivers will be measured at the location and must be able to safely operate all elements of the kart. Final approval will be at Speeders management’s discretion.

Is there a maximum height for the junior karts?

The junior karts have a maximum height of around 5’3” and can only accommodate children – sorry, no adults in junior karts even if you meet the height requirement!

Do you have a minimum age requirement?

We do not have a minimum age requirement, but we recommend the experience is best for children at least 8 years old.

Can a child race with an adult if they do not meet the minimum height requirement?

No, all karts at Speeders are single-seaters. If your child is not at least 48” tall, they will not be able to race on track.

Can junior karts race together with adult karts at the same time?

For safety reasons we do not permit mixed races with adult and junior karts. The adult karts weigh twice as much as junior karts. As a result, the force from any collision between an adult and a junior kart would be orders of magnitude higher for the junior kart and its occupant. Even at low speeds, it is simply not worth the risk.

How long is a single race?

Each race is 7 minutes in length. All racers get to race for the entire 7 minutes. As the skill level of junior racers can vary greatly, there is no minimum or maximum set for the number of laps.

Is there a maximum age for the junior karts?

Yes, racers must be under 14 years old or younger.

Do the junior karts race on the same track as the adult karts?

Yes, the junior karts race on the same track as the adult karts. This technical track is not only exciting to race, but it helps develop the driving skills of our junior racers.

Is junior karting at Speeders safe?

From the equipment we use to our racing rules and procedures, we take every precaution to ensure that the junior racing experience is as safe as possible. We hold an in-person safety briefing with all junior racers before their first race, where we review such things as how to safely operate the kart, the race rules and flags, and how to ask us for help if they have any concerns while racing.

The speed of each junior kart can be controlled remotely by our race marshal, who carefully monitors and manages each race. The marshal will only provide increased speed to a specific racer once they have demonstrated their ability to safely control the kart on the lower speed. If a kart gets stuck or turned around on the track, the martial will slow down all of the karts and our pit staff will rush out to the track and resolve the issue before the speed is increased again.

In addition, each racer is required to wear a current DOT approved helmet with a full-face cover and equipped with a visor or goggles, which we can provide.

How fast can the junior karts go?

The junior karts are capable of speeds exceeding 30 km/hr!

Do I need to book online for junior racing?

Booking online is highly recommended for both junior and adult racing, but is not required. We do accept walk-ins as long as we are not hosting a private event.

Do children need prior experience to race at Speeders?

No prior experience is required to race. All junior drivers will be briefed on track safety, rules, flag/sign meanings, and kart operation prior to their first race and will only be given increased power as they demonstrate their ability to control the kart safely.

Can I book a kids birthday party at Speeders?

Both packages include a 1-hour party room booking, a junior Speeders hat for each racer and your choice between a trophy or a gold, silver and bronze medal bundle.

    WHAT GUESTS SAY ABOUT US…

We celebrated my son’s 10th year birthday at Speeders. We got the party deal and were permitted to bring food and drinks to the party room. I applaud the staff for being safety conscious, on and off the tracks. The kids enjoyed their ride and were quick to learn how to drive the carts. It was worth every dollar spent!
